– Visitor visas (applying from): Canada 29 days (was 34); United States 27 days (was 28); Philippines 16 days (was 17); India 21 days (was 20); Pakistan 40 days (was 39); Nigeria 63 days (was 61). Service standard: outside Canada 14 days (in-Canada: N/A).
– Super visas (applying from): India 49 days (was 50); Pakistan 194 days (was 187); Nigeria 39 days (was 36); United States 124 days (was 126); Philippines 68 days (was 73). Service standard: 112 days. Note: super visas cannot be submitted from within Canada.
– IRCC’s next temporary residence processing-time update is expected on or around July 29, 2026.
How IRCC calculates these numbers
IRCC publishes two types of estimates:
– Historical processing times: how long it took to complete 80% of finalized applications in the past.
– Forward‑looking processing times: based on current inventory and processing capacity.
Service standards are internal targets (generally covering 80% of cases) and are not guarantees. Individual file timelines can differ because of case complexity, inventory backlogs, requests for more documents, medicals or security checks, or changes in IRCC capacity.
