Human Resources Professionals perform some or all of the following duties:
- Design and implement HR and labour-relations strategies, policies, and programs
- Advise management and employees on compensation, benefits, and collective agreements
- Negotiate labour contracts and mediate workplace disputes
- Develop job classifications, salary scales, and performance frameworks
- Administer staffing, training, career development, equity, and wellness programs
- Maintain HR information systems and workforce records
- Coordinate performance appraisal processes
- Evaluate workplace health-and-safety practices and recommend improvements
- Recruit and supervise HR staff
