Main Duties
Legal Administrative Assistants perform some or all of the following duties:
- Prepare and type correspondence and legal documents such as deeds, wills, affidavits, and briefs
- Proofread legal materials for procedural accuracy and grammar
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court-related conferences
- Maintain filing systems and manage confidential legal records
- Distribute physical and electronic correspondence
- Establish office procedures and routines
- Supervise or train junior staff in procedures and software
- Attend court or meetings to take notes and minutes
- Perform general office tasks, including preparing financial statements
