Main Duties

Landscape Architects perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Consult with clients to determine site and design needs
  • Survey and assess land conditions and surroundings
  • Design outdoor spaces considering climate, structures, and usage
  • Prepare detailed drawings for gardens, walkways, patios, lighting, and water features
  • Produce grading, drainage, and planting plans
  • Estimate project costs and evaluate tenders
  • Conduct environmental impact and heritage preservation studies
  • Participate in community and urban design master planning
  • Supervise landscape construction work when required
