Main Duties
Geological Engineers perform some or all of the following duties:
- Plan and coordinate geotechnical, geological, geophysical, and geohydrological investigations
- Analyze geological data for mining, petroleum, civil engineering, and environmental projects
- Prepare recommendations for foundation design, excavation, grouting, and erosion control
- Assess slope stability, landslide risks, and seismic impacts
- Conduct groundwater flow and contamination studies
- Perform mining feasibility studies and ore reserve evaluations
- Develop computer models and applications for geological analysis
- Supervise engineers, technologists, and technical staff
Employment Requirements
