Main Duties
Geological and Mineral Technologists and Technicians perform some or all of the following duties:
- Lead geological, geophysical, and drilling surveys
- Operate seismic and well-logging equipment
- Prepare geological maps, reports, and cross-sections
- Analyze reservoir and geophysical data
- Conduct environmental assessments and audits
- Supervise drilling and mine-development activities
- Support metallurgical processes such as corrosion control and welding projects
- Assist field surveys and drilling programs
- Operate geophysical and laboratory instruments
- Prepare rock, soil, and mineral samples for testing
- Compile and interpret seismic and geochemical data
- Support groundwater and hydrogeological studies
