Main Duties

Geological and Mineral Technologists and Technicians perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Lead geological, geophysical, and drilling surveys
  • Operate seismic and well-logging equipment
  • Prepare geological maps, reports, and cross-sections
  • Analyze reservoir and geophysical data
  • Conduct environmental assessments and audits
  • Supervise drilling and mine-development activities

  • Operate geophysical and laboratory instruments
  • Prepare rock, soil, and mineral samples for testing
  • Compile and interpret seismic and geochemical data
  • Support groundwater and hydrogeological studies
