Main Duties

Landscape and Horticulture Technicians and Specialists perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Diagnose tree, plant, and shrub diseases and apply appropriate treatments
  • Supervise maintenance of golf courses, parks, and landscaped areas
  • Plan ornamental plant cultivation and landscaping programs
  • Prepare site surveys, landscape drawings, and technical reports
  • Construct and install landscaped environments and outdoor features
  • Maintain lawns, gardens, and green spaces
  • Assess turf health and apply fertilizers or pesticides
  • Install patios, fences, irrigation systems, and other outdoor structures
