Main Duties
Drafting Technologists and Technicians perform some or all of the following duties:
- Develop engineering and architectural drawings from technical concepts
- Create BIM models for buildings, infrastructure, and engineering systems
- Operate CAD/CADD workstations and drafting software
- Prepare documentation packages and detailed drawing sets
- Verify designs against specifications and standards
- Produce technical reports, tender documents, and material estimates
- Estimate construction costs and required materials
- Supervise drafting teams and coordinate project documentation
- Produce plans, diagrams, and layouts from sketches and specifications
- Support engineers, architects, and senior technologists in design development
