Main Duties
Land Survey Technologists and Technicians perform some or all of the following duties:
- Assist survey engineers in developing field-survey methods and procedures
- Conduct land surveys using electronic instruments, GPS systems, and UAVs
- Record measurements and geographic data accurately
- Perform trigonometric calculations and data analysis
- Prepare survey drawings, charts, maps, and technical reports
- Supervise and coordinate field-survey crews
- Operate survey equipment and instruments on-site
- Maintain survey records, logs, and documentation
- Assist with calculations, plotting, and mapping
- Support preparation of maps, plans, and technical drawings
