Main Duties

Land Survey Technologists and Technicians perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Assist survey engineers in developing field-survey methods and procedures
  • Conduct land surveys using electronic instruments, GPS systems, and UAVs
  • Record measurements and geographic data accurately
  • Perform trigonometric calculations and data analysis
  • Prepare survey drawings, charts, maps, and technical reports
  • Supervise and coordinate field-survey crews
  • Operate survey equipment and instruments on-site
  • Maintain survey records, logs, and documentation
  • Assist with calculations, plotting, and mapping
  • Support preparation of maps, plans, and technical drawings
