Main Duties

Non-Destructive Testers and Inspectors perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Transport, set up, and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment
  • Perform inspections using ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic-particle, liquid-penetrant, and eddy-current methods
  • Interpret digital, ultrasonic, and radiographic inspection results
  • Apply inspection standards, codes, and technical procedures
  • Document findings and prepare technical inspection reports
  • Conduct infrared thermography, vibration analysis, or related testing procedures
  • Ensure strict radiation, equipment, and site-safety compliance
  • Train or supervise junior inspectors and technicians
