Construction Estimators perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Prepare cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment
  • Analyze bids, quotations, specifications, and drawings
  • Advise on tendering procedures and contract awards
  • Develop cost-monitoring and reporting systems
  • Prepare project forecasts and expenditure statements
  • Maintain supplier and subcontractor directories
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, contractors, and owners
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses
  • Coordinate schedules and construction progress plans
