Main Duties
Massage Therapists perform some or all of the following duties:
- Assess clients using range-of-motion tests and muscle evaluations
- Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans
- Explain procedures, risks, and benefits to clients
- Administer massage therapy techniques including soft tissue manipulation and relaxation therapy
- Apply specialized techniques such as hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, and joint mobilization
- Provide remedial exercise programs and rehabilitation guidance
- Offer postural correction, stretching, and strengthening advice
- Maintain detailed treatment records and progress notes
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, chiropractors, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
- Support injury prevention and overall wellness programs
