Travel counsellors perform some or all of the following duties:

• Provide travel information regarding destinations, transportation, accommodation, and travel costs
• Plan and organize vacation travel for individuals and groups
• Make reservations using computerized reservation and ticketing systems
• Research new travel destinations, hotels, and attractions
• Advise clients on travel requirements such as visas, customs, currency, and safety
• Sell single fares, package tours, and travel-related services
• Promote destinations, packages, and special offers to clients
