Main Duties
Service station attendants perform some or all of the following duties:
- Refuel vehicles and watercraft with gasoline, diesel, or alternative fuels such as EV charging, propane, or hydrogen
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance including checking oil levels, tire pressure, and windshield fluids
- Clean windshields and windows for customers
- Operate point-of-sale systems to process payments for fuel and retail items
- Maintain cleanliness of fuel pumps, parking areas, and retail sections
- Monitor fuel storage levels and report discrepancies to management
- Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining inventory of automotive products
- Provide customer service and assist travelers at service stations and truck stops
