Main Duties
Pet groomers and animal care workers perform some or all of the following duties:
- Feed and care for animals, birds, and aquatic life at scheduled intervals
- Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, aquariums, and surrounding areas
- Shampoo, trim, and groom animals according to breed standards or customer preferences
- Assist veterinarians and animal health technologists in basic treatments and care

- Train animals, especially dogs, to follow commands and perform specific tasks
- Support research or laboratory work involving animals when required
