Main Duties
Contractors and supervisors in machining and metal trades perform some or all of the following duties:
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers involved in machining, metal forming, shaping, and erecting trades
- Set up machines and equipment and troubleshoot CNC programs to ensure precision manufacturing
- Requisition materials and supplies and resolve work-related issues to improve productivity and quality
- Train workers and recommend hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and industrial regulations
- Oversee high-precision fabrication processes using advanced machinery and automation systems
- Manage workflow planning and operational efficiency within machine shops and fabrication units
- For contractors: manage business operations, including bidding, project execution, and client relationships
Employment Requirements
