Main Duties

Contractors and supervisors in pipefitting trades perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of plumbers, steamfitters, gas fitters, and sprinkler system installers
  • Schedule work and ensure project timelines are met across residential, commercial, and industrial sites
  • Resolve complex technical issues and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency
  • Requisition materials and coordinate with other trades to maintain workflow continuity
  • Train apprentices and ensure compliance with safety standards and piping installation codes
  • Prepare progress reports and ensure all installations comply with building regulations
  • Oversee installation and maintenance of high-pressure piping, gas systems, and fluid transport infrastructure
