Main Duties
Contractors and supervisors in mechanic trades perform some or all of the following duties:
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers who repair and maintain aircraft, locomotives, industrial machinery, and motor vehicles
- Establish methods to meet maintenance schedules and resolve complex technical problems
- Requisition materials and ensure specialized tools and diagnostic equipment meet operational standards
- Train workers and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- Prepare work progress and production reports and recommend hiring or promotions
- Oversee predictive maintenance systems and AI-integrated diagnostics for industrial equipment
- Manage maintenance operations across sectors such as aviation, rail, mining, and automotive industries
- Ensure equipment reliability, safety compliance, and operational efficiency
