Main Duties

Contractors and supervisors in mechanic trades perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers who repair and maintain aircraft, locomotives, industrial machinery, and motor vehicles
  • Establish methods to meet maintenance schedules and resolve complex technical problems
  • Requisition materials and ensure specialized tools and diagnostic equipment meet operational standards
  • Train workers and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • Prepare work progress and production reports and recommend hiring or promotions
  • Oversee predictive maintenance systems and AI-integrated diagnostics for industrial equipment
  • Manage maintenance operations across sectors such as aviation, rail, mining, and automotive industries
  • Ensure equipment reliability, safety compliance, and operational efficiency
