Main Duties
Supervisors in printing and related occupations perform some or all of the following duties:
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers involved in printing production and finishing processes
- Review and approve proofs and samples to ensure quality standards and client specifications are met
- Provide technical guidance and resolve production-related issues to improve efficiency and product quality
- Order materials and ensure printing presses and finishing equipment are properly maintained
- Train staff on job duties, safety procedures, and company policies
- Recommend hiring, promotions, and other personnel decisions
- Oversee digital and automated printing systems including color management technologies
- Ensure production timelines meet fast turnaround requirements in modern print environments
