Main Duties

Supervisors in motor transport and ground transit operations perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of truck, bus, delivery drivers, and transit operators
  • Dispatch drivers and monitor operations to ensure schedules are met, including peak-hour transit coordination
  • Operate signal and track switch control panels for subway and transit systems
  • Resolve operational issues and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and service performance
  • Requisition materials and ensure proper utilization of fleet resources
  • Train staff in safety procedures, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and EV fleet operations
  • Prepare work reports, monitor expenditures, and recommend personnel actions
  • Oversee AI-driven dispatch systems and fleet management technologies for modern logistics operations
