Main Duties
Machine fitters perform some or all of the following duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to determine assembly sequences
- Fit and assemble prefabricated metal parts to build heavy industrial machinery
- Install components such as gears, pumps, motors, and hydraulic or pneumatic systems
- Align and position subassemblies using lifting and transporting equipment such as cranes
- Inspect finished assemblies using digital measuring tools to ensure precision and quality
- Test assembled machinery to ensure proper functioning and performance
- Perform adjustments and modifications to meet technical specifications
- Maintain safety standards and comply with industrial regulations
Employment Requirements
