Main Duties

Appliance servicers and repairers perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Use computerized diagnostic tools and mobile apps to identify faults in electronic control systems and sensors
  • Disassemble appliances to repair or replace defective parts such as motors, heating elements, and valves
  • Install and repair gas and electrical appliances ensuring compliance with safety regulations
  • Connect and test plumbing and gas systems in household appliances
  • Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and system checks
  • Advise customers on repair vs replacement decisions and demonstrate appliance usage
  • Calibrate and test smart appliances including IoT-enabled systems
  • Maintain service records and ensure compliance with safety and building codes
