Main Duties
Crane operators perform some or all of the following duties:
- Inspect cranes and calculate load weights and lifting capacities before operations
- Operate tower, mobile, and specialized cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials
- Coordinate with ground crews using hand signals or radio communication for precise load placement
- Monitor wind speed, load sensors, and safety systems during operations
- Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs
- Follow strict safety protocols to prevent accidents on construction and industrial sites
