Main Duties

General building maintenance workers and superintendents perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, and fixture replacement
  • Inspect buildings regularly to ensure safety and compliance with fire and building codes
  • Coordinate with specialized tradespeople for major repairs and system failures
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment

  • Ensure proper functioning of security systems, alarms, and surveillance equipment
