Main Duties
Construction trades helpers and labourers perform some or all of the following duties:
- Load and unload construction materials and move them to designated work areas
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, barricades, and concrete forms
- Assist skilled tradespersons such as carpenters, bricklayers, and roofers
- Support heavy equipment operators by guiding machinery and securing attachments
- Level ground and prepare sites using hand tools such as rakes and shovels
- Remove debris and maintain clean and safe construction environments
- Operate tools such as pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers
- Direct traffic near construction sites to ensure safety
- Perform general labour tasks across residential, commercial, and industrial projects
