Underground mine service and support workers perform some or all of the following duties:

• Install and extend ventilation ducts, air and water pipes in underground mining areas
• Install and maintain ground support systems including rock bolts, mesh, and timber supports
• Operate utility vehicles and small machinery to transport materials underground
• Assist blasters by transporting explosives and clearing debris after blasting operations
• Maintain underground roadways, tracks, and drainage systems
• Support emergency response systems including fire protection and safety procedures
• Perform routine inspection and maintenance of service equipment
• Identify and report safety hazards and ensure compliance with mine safety regulations
• Assist production teams in maintaining safe and efficient mining operations
