Main Duties

Supervisors in petroleum, gas, chemical processing and utilities perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule workers operating refineries, chemical plants, and utility systems
  • Establish work schedules and coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards including hazardous materials handling
  • Resolve operational issues and implement improvements to increase productivity and efficiency
  • Train staff on job duties, advanced safety protocols, and control systems (DCS/SCADA)
  • Manage materials, supplies, and equipment maintenance schedules
  • Prepare production, safety, and compliance reports for senior management
  • Oversee implementation of new technologies such as hydrogen processing and carbon capture systems

Employment Requirements
