Main Duties

Supervisors in textile, fabric, fur and leather products processing and manufacturing perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule workers operating machines for spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, and finishing textiles and leather
  • Establish work schedules and coordinate activities across production departments to meet deadlines
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, product quality, and compliance
  • Resolve operational issues and implement improvements to increase productivity and quality
  • Requisition materials and manage inventory for fibers, fabrics, dyes, and chemicals
  • Train workers in job duties, safety procedures, and operation of automated or CNC textile machinery
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safe handling of chemicals
  • Prepare production, safety, and personnel reports for management
  • Oversee quality control and sustainable production practices in textile manufacturing
