Main Duties

Supervisors in furniture and fixtures manufacturing perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule workers assembling, finishing, and inspecting furniture and fixtures
  • Establish production methods and coordinate with design, procurement, and logistics teams
  • Monitor production processes to ensure product quality, efficiency, and timely delivery
  • Resolve technical issues and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and finish quality
  • Requisition materials and manage equipment maintenance and tool sharpening schedules
  • Train workers in job duties, safety procedures, and proper use of machinery and finishing tools
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards including VOC handling
  • Prepare production reports, safety audits, and material usage summaries for management
  • Oversee implementation of CNC, CAD/CAM, and automated woodworking systems
