Main Duties

Supervisors in mechanical and metal products manufacturing perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule workers assembling, fabricating, and inspecting mechanical and metal products
  • Establish production methods and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and quality assurance teams
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, precision, and product quality standards
  • Resolve complex technical issues and implement improvements to increase productivity and maintain tolerances
  • Requisition materials and manage equipment maintenance and calibration of high-precision tools
  • Train workers in job duties, safety procedures, and operation of advanced machinery including CNC and robotic systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
  • Prepare production reports, safety audits, and material utilization summaries for management
  • Oversee adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies such as automation, predictive maintenance, and additive manufacturing
