Main Duties
Concrete, clay and stone forming operators perform some or all of the following duties:
- Operate and monitor machines that extrude, mould, press, or form concrete, clay, or stone products
- Prepare and mix raw materials such as cement, sand, gravel, clay, and additives according to specifications
- Set up and adjust moulds, vibrators, and hydraulic presses to ensure proper shaping and structural integrity
- Control curing processes and monitor moisture levels using digital sensors and automated systems
- Finish concrete and stone surfaces using hand tools or power tools
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality and engineering standards
- Maintain production logs and report equipment malfunctions or defects
- Assist in cleaning, maintaining, and troubleshooting machinery and equipment
