Main Duties

Concrete, clay and stone forming operators perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Operate and monitor machines that extrude, mould, press, or form concrete, clay, or stone products
  • Prepare and mix raw materials such as cement, sand, gravel, clay, and additives according to specifications
  • Set up and adjust moulds, vibrators, and hydraulic presses to ensure proper shaping and structural integrity
  • Control curing processes and monitor moisture levels using digital sensors and automated systems
  • Finish concrete and stone surfaces using hand tools or power tools
  • Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality and engineering standards
  • Maintain production logs and report equipment malfunctions or defects
  • Assist in cleaning, maintaining, and troubleshooting machinery and equipment
  • Follow safety procedures and environmental standards in industrial production environments
