Main Duties

Plastics processing machine operators perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Set up and operate machines such as injection moulders, extruders, blow moulders, and compression moulders to produce plastic products
  • Adjust controls to regulate temperature, pressure, speed, and material flow during production
  • Monitor machines to ensure consistent quality and efficient operation
  • Inspect finished plastic products using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Identify defects and make necessary adjustments to maintain product standards
  • Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs
  • Maintain production logs and report equipment or quality issues
