Main Duties

Weavers, knitters and other fabric making occupations perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Set up looms, knitting machines, and other fabric-making equipment according to digital or physical patterns

  • Read and interpret loom patterns and prepare mechanical or digital patterning mechanisms

  • Make minor machine adjustments to correct production or quality problems
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain machines and replace worn components such as needles
