Main Duties

Testers and graders in food and beverage processing perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Take samples of food and beverage products at different stages of production for testing
  • Conduct sensory evaluations using sight, smell, taste, and touch to assess product quality
  • Perform routine scientific tests for factors such as moisture content, fat levels, temperature, alcohol content, and carbonation
