Furniture and fixture assemblers, finishers, refinishers and inspectors perform some or all of the following duties:

• Prepare, sand, and trim parts to form subassemblies or complete furniture articles using hand and power tools
• Assemble wooden or metal furniture and fixtures based on technical specifications
• Operate finishing equipment or apply stains, paints, lacquers, and sealers by hand
• Strip old finishes from used furniture and refinish surfaces to restore original quality
• Inspect finished products for defects such as scratches, blemishes, or structural issues
• Ensure products meet quality control standards and specifications
• Repair minor defects and perform touch-ups on finished items
• Maintain records of finishing processes and inspection results
• Use digital tools to monitor eco-impact data and automated finishing systems
