Main Duties
Assemblers and inspectors of other wood products perform some or all of the following duties:
- Assemble prefabricated wood components to produce products such as window frames, doors, pallets, and crates
- Operate automated and semi-automated machinery including pneumatic nailers, staplers, and glue systems
- Sand, trim, and finish wood products to meet specifications
- Inspect finished wood products for defects such as cracks, knots, and structural weaknesses
- Ensure products meet dimensional and quality standards
- Apply protective coatings and basic finishes to wood products
- Handle materials and components safely in a fast-paced production environment
- Maintain production and inspection records using digital systems
