Main Duties
Industrial painters, coaters and metal finishing process operators perform some or all of the following duties:
- Prepare metal surfaces using sandblasting, chemical cleaning, or grinding techniques
- Operate automated spray lines, electrostatic coating systems, and dipping tanks
- Apply paints, enamels, and anti-corrosion coatings to industrial products
- Perform manual painting and touch-up finishing on complex or detailed components
