Main Duties

Labourers in mineral and metal processing perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Transport raw materials, finished products, and scrap materials throughout the plant using manual handling or powered equipment
  • Feed conveyors, crushers, and other machinery to assist production processes
  • Open valves, start pumps, and assist machine operators in daily operations
  • Clean work areas, machinery, and equipment to maintain safe production environments
